The City at Night

The sun has come out in the last few days and it's been much appreciated. Arriving in Budapest in the rain was a little discouraging, but the past few days have been quite warm and pleasant. Yesterday, after an orientation at Corvinus the API group headed out for a picnic in the park. We visited Margit Island, a popular park in the city and a great place to get away from greys and browns of the city. As a huge fan of parks I've been keeping a special eye out for them and this one is definitely getting visited later on. I might dedicate an entire post to parks in Budapest after I've visited a couple. So stay posted!

Our picnic consisted of strudels, savory potato chips and a popular Hungarian candy bar that is filled with cottage cheese and surrounded with bitter chocolate. Afterwards we had some free time or a scavenger hunt. Valarie and I started the scavenger hunt, but were soon distracted by better things. Like Coke, and bookstores.
Such cute containers!

Later that night we took a tour on the Danube river and got to see the city at night:

The Parliament building
Look there's me!

I couldn't tell you what it is, but I'd want to party there!

The Ferris Wheel! Our precious landmark we've come to grow almost entirely dependent on for navigation :)

Later that night we visited an underground club where lots of young people were hanging out, and we met these two very sweet boys, Aaron and Jakob (below)

They were our first new friends in Hungary! Even though they were German. They were very fun and we had a great evening chatting with them both.

That's all for now!
