Romania - Day One
This past weekend I got the chance to go to Romania with my API program and it was definitely a worthwhile experience. We got to get out of the city and into the mountains. We did some amazing hiking and adventuring through the wilds of Romania as well as some stops in important cities. I'll try to keep my facts straight, but pardon me if I confuse some important places. It was lovely to get out of Budapest and into some fresh, quiet air. Let's begin!
We started our trip on a eight hour bus ride into Transylvania. It was a long day but I ended up sleeping most of the time so it passed quickly. We stayed in a small village called Magyarfenes.

Before dinner, we checked out the town and surrounding area. We walked on a winding trail beside a beautiful hillside. Little did I know this was just the beginning of the amazing views we were about to see later on in the trip
haystacks!
Because it was a beautiful day and there was time to kill before dinner we decided to hike up the hill and see the view.

And dinner time! I've posted photos of the meal this time around because I have to say, I was starving, and I impressed myself with the amount of food I consumed at this meal. So to start, we had a simple soup with dumplings.
Followed by a second course of delicious turkey, rice and sauerkraut and potatoes.
And lastly, doughnuts! With strawberry jam and sugar.

Dinner with good company
We spent the night at host families house and I got the pink room with Charlotte. The house itself was very charming, this room was especially cute, but the amount of pink was slightly overwhelming.
And that's the end of the first day!
