Rainy Day Baking

Image
When the weather is telling you to stay inside and stay warm,it means it's a perfect day for baking! And Val and I have been getting our bake on. Last week there was the apple crisp which I have a picture of finally: And the delicious Nutella french toast: The tower of Nutella sandwiches, muahahaha :)   The final product. Nutella french toast with bananas and berries. Yum. This week we continued with gusto and concocted a delicious carrot cake, chewy no-bake cookies and a cake-in-a-mug for a little extra pizzazz. I found this recipe to make cake-in-a-mug. I thought it was one of the most ingenious things I've seen made, but then I was informed that it's pretty much just a cupcake, which I guess it is, but it's so much cooler when you say it's cake in a mug and that you made it in a microwave. So I've visited a few parks in my weekends here in Budapest, to start here's a few pictures from the picnic/bookstore/coffee shop adventure Valarie and Maia and I had last Saturday.  We re-visited the fancy bookstore cafe we had seen on the second/third day here. Friday was rainy and gross so I had stayed in the whole day so it was welcome to get out and get a little active after a full day of studying/vegging. The whole park was in the Buda hills, which looked great for sledding in the winter time :) And even cooler, there was a lookout tower where you could get and amazing view od the city and the hills around. Alright, I'm making up for the last post, with tons of pictures on this one. There won't be a lot of narration on this one, so let me just give a sum-up. Today, Valarie and I went and explored the City Park next to Hero's square which is a very famous, big tourist spot to stop. The park is massive, and feels like it stretches on for ever. There's a festival, a castle, a circus and bath house and a zoo all in the parks boundaries. It was quite the day of exploration.  Statue at Hero's Square The park! The bath house Pretty castle! Parks are pretty great Selfies in the sunshine :D Art. Don't ask me to explain We spent the first half just wandering around the park. The second half...Well, we made the spontaneous decision to go to the zoo! And it was glorious. Ahhh I love the zoo! Get ready for animal overload! So if you don't like animals, why are you reading my blog anyways? Let's b...
